Im Nordwesten der Region Loire Atlantique, gleich südwestlich der Bretange, liegt der Parc Régional de Brière, eine Landschaft aus Sumpf und Kanälen. Eine alte Meeresbucht ist weitgehend verlandet. Darin liegen ehemalige Inseln, die inzwischen durch Straßen miteinander und dem umgebenden ‚Festland‘ verbunden sind. Eine dieser Inseln ist die hübsche Île de Fédrun mit alten Reet gedeckten Häusern.
Island in the swampland
Located in the northwest of the Loire Atlantique region, just south-west of the Bretange, is the Parc Régional de Brière, a landscape of swamp and canals. An old bay has largely landed up. It contains former islands, which are now connected by roads with each other and the surrounding ‚mainland‘. One of these islands is the pretty Île de Fédrun with old thatch-roofed houses.
